SUPERVISORY COMMISSARY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Serves as Supervisory Commissary Management Specialist manages the overall activities and functions of the Defense Commissary Agency's (DeCA) commissaries within a designated Zone. Directs a highly complex operating program that provides continuing supervision and consulting services to senior managers of assigned commissaries. Serves as the field expert, troubleshooter, and supervisor for a group of Commissary Officers (Store Directors) at the GS-11 through GS-14 levels. Manage overall activities and functions of multiple commissaries within a zone. Plan, organize, direct, staff, carry out, review, and evaluate a positive management-oriented commissary operations program. Collaborate with subordinate store directors to provide overall direction for implementation of HQ and region plans, programs, policies, and procedures within the zone, and ensure high quality delivery of the benefit. To qualify for this position, by the closing date of this announcement you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must be at the next lower grade level (GS-13) or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Specialized experience is that which equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position being filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Examples of creditable qualifying specialized experience include:
(1) Managing a commissary store, supermarket, or similar type of commercial retail food store; (2) Managing a department in a retail food store; (3) Planning, standardizing, or controlling operations in an assigned group of retail food stores; (4) Developing, interpreting, or applying policies, procedures, and operating standards for use in a retail food store; and (5) Providing technical advice on merchandising and operational matters pertaining to grocery, meats, and produce supplies, as well as front-end operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
