Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes performing a variety of operations concerning maintenance control functions. Supervision to include planning and scheduling work; assigning work and evaluating work; providing advice, counseling, and instruction to subordinates; interviewing candidates and recommending or making selections; effecting disciplinary actions; identifying training needs; and, developing performance standards. OR EDUCATION:
Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. NOTE:

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to plan, schedule, and take corrective action to meet emergency and regular work load requirements. Skill in effective written and oral communication. 2. Knowledge of assigned equipment and safety regulations. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems (MIS) and aircraft maintenance documentation processes to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions. 3. Knowledge of and ability to interpret military aircraft and manufacturing terminology, technical orders, data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up. 4. Knowledge of maintenance organizational structures and skill in the distribution of personnel to obtain a balance of work. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, technical manuals, and directives to determine applicability. 5. Knowledge and skill of appropriate production/technical processes and material posture of maintenance work centers to ensure continuing availability of material requirement. 6. Knowledge of total quality management methodology, tools, and techniques.Knowledge of aerospace systems, subsystems, components, and associated inspections, repair, modification, and supply processes. 7. Knowledge of personnel management, personnel instructions, timekeeping, and ability to manage and supervise employees. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
