Air Gateway Sr. Operations Manager
Love airplanes, the smell of jet fuel and want to be part of history by joining the Amazon Air Gateway Leadership Team; then this role is for you! Our Senior Operations Manager is responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for the Air Gateway.
Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations, and building leadership bench strength within the Air Gateway Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the Gateway to meet and exceed business plan.
Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of Sortation, Crossdock and Aircraft Ramp operations.
Will set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers.
Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.
Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Operations and Area Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must fulfill FAA and DHS criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
This position may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing.
Federal law requires Amazon to determine an applicant's history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position, if applicable.
Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
