The Material Planner is to support the prototype and preproduction vehicle and powertrain builds. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, technical background and a passion for electric vehicles. The Material Planner will work with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to fully understand demand and supply needs and balance those against operational goals while incorporating LEAN manufacturing principals.
Tasks:
Plan and schedule various purchased sub-components needed to build prototypes for new programs. Support program/s from prototype phase through start of production until transition to production sustaining team.
Work with suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for individual components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting Just-in-Time delivery; coordinate with Supply Chain Specialist/s and Logistics as needed.
Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with product development project plan milestones.
Maintain accurate MRP Purchase Order data to reflect confirmed delivery quantities and due dates from suppliers and resolve inventory discrepancies in proprietary MRP system and SAP.
Responsibilities
Help resolve BOM issues by working with appropriate engineering and manufacturing personnel.
Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering to support material changes resulting from Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product end of life; plan for new material and minimize obsolescence of old material.
Provide ongoing transparency of inventory levels and ensure continuous inventory accuracy.
Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing, product development teams, supply chain, inventory control and logistics teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or Operations background is strongly desired.
2-5 years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing company is required.
Proficiency in MS Excel, including ability to maintain and enhance Excel-based material shortage reports, is required.
Familiarity in SAP is desired.
Strong analytical capabilities, including ability to optimize delivery costs and inventory levels, are desired.
Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand is required.
Ability to present material status effectively in weekly executive meetings is required.
Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude is required.
Self-motivation and resourcefulness are required
Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision is required.
Strong work ethics required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
